Suhas is the Founder of TREC, a passionate conservationist and nature educator committed to building a deeper connection between people and the natural world. His journey in conservation is shaped by extensive field experience, wildlife exploration, and a strong dedication to environmental education.
With a special interest in herpetology, Suhas has substantial experience in snake rescue, rehabilitation, and public awareness, supported by training and mentorship from leading experts in the field. He has conducted numerous nature and wildlife awareness programs across schools, colleges, rural communities, and public forums, promoting responsible human–wildlife coexistence and biodiversity conservation.
At TREC, Suhas shapes the organization’s conservation vision and leads its Nature Education Division, driving educational initiatives, field programs, and community engagement that inspire awareness, appreciation, and stewardship of nature.

Dr. Harsha Hegde
Harsha is the Co-Founder and Researcher at TREC, an accomplished scientist with expertise in plant sciences, traditional medicine, medicinal plants, and biodiversity conservation. He holds a Ph.D. in Plant Sciences and serves as a Senior Scientist at the Regional Medical Research Centre (ICMR), Belgaum, where his research bridges traditional knowledge, medicinal plant resources, and human health.
His work focuses on the ecology, conservation, and sustainable utilization of medicinal plants, with a strong emphasis on documenting and preserving traditional knowledge systems. An active academic and researcher, he has published numerous scientific papers, serves on scientific and academic committees, contributes to scholarly journals, and mentors Ph.D. scholars across multiple universities.
At TREC, Harsha leads research initiatives centered on local plant resources, traditional health practices, medicinal plant ecology, and their socio-economic significance. His scientific leadership strengthens TREC’s approach to evidence-based conservation while connecting research, traditional knowledge, and sustainable natural resource management.
K. R. Nitin is the Co-Founder of TREC, bringing a strong grassroots perspective shaped by his background in agriculture, sustainable farming, and natural resource management. He actively practices and promotes organic agriculture, with a focus on environmentally responsible farming and the sustainable use of natural resources.
Working closely with farmers and rural communities, Nitin encourages the adoption of sustainable agricultural practices through community engagement, practical knowledge sharing, and locally relevant solutions. His core interest lies in the value addition of natural resources, creating opportunities that enhance their economic potential while ensuring responsible and sustainable utilization.
At TREC, he contributes to initiatives in sustainable agriculture, community engagement, natural resource management, and rural livelihoods, helping connect conservation with practical, community-driven development.
K. R. Nitin
Dr. Meghashyama Bhat
Working as the Project designer and developer for TREC; is a researcher who obtained his M.Sc. and Ph.D. in Botany from Karnatak University, Dharwad. His core research area includes Microbiology and Green Nanotechnology; worked on microbial secondary metabolites and green silver nanoparticles for in-vitro biological activities. He has experience in academic research and passionate about learning and adapting to the field research that contributes towards nature conservation and education.
Working as Field Associate at TREC; has past experience of working at the same position in Indian Foundation for Humanistic Development (IFHD). He has involved himself assisting in sapling plantations, maintaining and regular monitoring of the planted saplings. Other than this, he is passionate about birds and his assistance is valuable for bird watching activities of TREC.
